I'm investigating the possibility of applying for PR. I'm looking for recommendations for a good immigration scrivener/lawyer in the Kobe area. I have a Japanese spouse to whom I have been married since 2001. My wife and I have been living in the Kobe area for almost five years, and in Nara for 14 years before that. I believe that normally the process should be straight-forward, but I am retired now and my income is not so very high anymore. I am presently receiving pension payments from both US Social Security and the Japan equivalent pension systems. I am concerned that such income might be low enough to be of concern to immigration. I do not know if Japanese immigration takes into account our savings, which should be significant.
Thoughts anyone ?
