Renewing voluntary car insurance

Do you guys have to go into the physical office every year to renew your car insurance? I have JA and it appears that I have to do so.

I don’t want to take a half day of leave every year just to sign a new contract. Is there a way around this?

  1. Use a different insurance company? I’ve never gone anywhere, they send me a new post card every year with a lower price automatically

  2. No? I log on, click a button, and they send me the renewed policy by post. Mitsubishi Marine.

  3. My car insurance from Zenrosai auto-renews every year. I get a notice in the mail every year asking me to review my coverage and contact them if I want to make any changes. Otherwise, the only time I had to go to their office was when I made the initial application for insurance. It has renewed automatically every year since then. I bought a new car in July and I was able to change coverage to the new car by phone and by sending the necessary documents from the car dealer by mail.

  4. Got introduced to a local insurance salesman through a friend of a friend, who has no issue coming around to my apartment at my convenience to go through the paperwork. I like it this way, even though it’s arguably not the cheapest.
