I have done lots of research and can’t really find answers. I searched many language school websites and google. I am applying for beginner classes at ISI language school and they gave me a placement test with questions directly from the JLPT N5 exam. I can read them but don’t understand the questions. Was everyone’s placement exam this hard for a beginner level class? I am scared if I fail that they won’t issue my coe :/

Placement test?
I sent my bank info, I qualified.
It has nothing to do with your CoE. It’s just the practice of language school to gauge your knowledge so they can assign you to the class with appropriate level.
A placement test is not the same as an admission exam. It’s not pass/fail, it’s “what level class do we start you with.”
If they don’t give you a CoE, they don’t get your tuition money. Why would they turn down a student who will pay them money? Being a beginner has nothing to do with it.
