Is there a subreddit for my japanese friend to learn english?

My japanese friend/tutor teaches me japanese vocabulary and grammar. He recently mentioned wanting to learn english but I don’t think I can teach him properly, especially since I wouldn’t be able to explain things clearly as I am still not fluent in japanese. Please help! This is my first time posting so please point me to the right place if I made a mistake! Thanks!

  1. If your friend is competent with english, r/englishlearning is the place to go, but the answers are almost always in english and not the learners native language

    Otherwise, consider having your friend post in r/learnjapanese to ask the native japanese speakers there if they have any ideas

  3. I hope your friend is successful on their journey! If they’re interested there are some Vtubers that may help. Me personally I gained a lot watching Japanese Vtubers doing Duolingo because I got to hear them read outloud the Japanese version as well as see the English translation and also read the Japanese on screen. I believe some English Vtubers may help with their duolingo streams in the same way! Otherwise if they know some English I believe Calliope Mori did a teaching stream as well.

    If they seem interested I can gather some links and they can just check out the streams and decide for themselves. Feel free to DM. Unfortunately I don’t know any subs because this is primarily an English platform. If they know basic English I’d also be happy to take some time to do a language exchange. Whatever they’re most comfortable with!
