Hello everyone,
Was wondering if you all had any recommendations for a decently priced hotel in Tokyo and Kyoto. I’m traveling with my brother and we both are looking for a place that has a good mix of night life (I.e restaurants, stores; not really into clubs or drinking) so that there is something to do at the end of the day if there is extra time.
We will be in Tokyo for about 9-10 days in total. We are planning to go to Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Asakusa, Ueno, Akihabara, Shibuya, Ginza, Harujuku, and Aoyama. I’ve seen recommendations about staying near the train stations (Shinjuku or Tokyo station?) as it makes it easier to get around. I’m thinking budget is about $100-200 a night, but can go higher if needed.
We will be in Kyoto for about 6-7 days and it will be the home base as we venture out for day trips to Nara, Kobe, and Osaka (one day for USJ and one day to explore the city). Same budget as Tokyo.
