Positivity for a 1-year JETs please!

Hi! It's recontracting season and I've been seeing lots of talk about how people who only stayed for one year regretted it, but I want to know of any people who felt a year was good. I really wanna stay longer but my family has been aging and experiencing health issues that make me want to be for them as long as possible, so I've decided that I most likely won't recontract. However, it's still really bittersweet and I want so see if there are any positive vibes from others who only stayed.

I'm unfortunately a person who gets super attached, but I know in the long run, no matter how fond I've grown of my coworkers and students, I'm just another ALT that they'll most likely forget, which makes me really sad but I've been doing my best to rationalize that the teachers are most likely gonna switch out in April anyways. Like I'm not friends with these people, but I kinda hope I left an impact and maybe they'd think as much about me as I do for them but I know that's unlikely. And I should be investing in the relationships I have back at home before it's too late, even though I (unrealistically) wish I could keep and continue to foster every relationship I've ever made.

I guess I'm just looking for a little validation in my choice instead of fearing that I'll regret everything hahaa. So yes, any good thoughts are really appreciated.
