I keep hearing/reading about overtourism in Japan right now, and as someone who's been self-studying for a little over a year and hoping to visit some time in the future, it's becoming sort of disheartening. I want to visit in order to experience all of Japan and learn as much as I can and talk to people, and there's this annoying thought in the back of my head that by the time I get there I'm going to be perceived at this annoying tourist regardless of what I do. I totally get it…if there were a bunch of visitors acting like a**es where I lived (although literally no one wants to visit where I live LOL), I'd tend towards feeling that way too. Is anyone else experiencing this sort of thought/feeling?
