There were a handful of times I called in sick but it’s just a regular old flu or fever with migraine that can be cured with just over the counter meds so I never go to the hospital when it’s just that.
I noticed every time I call in sick (from different companies I’ve worked with), they always ask if I’m going to the hospital.
Is it expected of me to go to the hospital? I’ve been living here for years but I guess I don’t understand if there’s a work etiquette here. I am a bit tone deaf when it comes to social situations in here.
Edit: thanks for all the helpful answers. I am new to the work culture here in Japan so some things just go over my head. I’ve got a better understanding of it now.
