2-week itinerary check. What would you advise?

Hey everyone!

I'm planning a 2-week trip. Would like to know all your suggestions!

Day 0: Land at Narita Airport at 12:00 PM (noon). Take a bus or train to Tokyo Station. Catch a Shinkansen to Shin-Shirakawa and reach in late evening or night. OR Take this Shinkansen the next day early morning. Which would be better?

Day 1: Rent a car at Shin-Shirakawa.

  • Morning: Drive till Ouchijuku
  • Afternoon: Leave from Ouchijuku and visit Tsurugajo Castle, Mount Iimoriyama
  • Stay overnight at Aizuwakamatsu. Go to an onsen if time permits or just have a good meal

Day 2: Leave from Aizuwakamatsu

  • Morning: Drive via Bandaisan Gold line scenic road and reach Goshikunuma five colour ponds
  • Afternoon: Drive via Bandai-Azuma road and reach Mount Azuma-Kofuji
  • Evening: Reach Takayu Onsen

Day 3: Leave from Takayu Onsen

  • Morning: Drive to Miharu Takizakura & Abukumado Caves
  • Afternoon: Drive to Shin-Shirakawa
  • Evening: Reach Shin-Shirakawa and stay overnight

Day 4: Leave for Tokyo

  • Morning: Take an early morning Shinkansen to Tokyo and reach accommodation
  • Afternoon: Explore the Asakusa area, visit Senso-ji Temple
  • Evening: Stroll around Nakamise Shopping Street and have dinner

Day 5: Tokyo

  • Morning: Visit the Meiji Shrine in Shibuya & Yoyogi park
  • Afternoon: Explore Harajuku, including Takeshita Street
  • Evening: Dinner at Shibuya

Day 6: Fuji Day Trip

  • Morning: Take a bus or train to Lake Kawaguchiko
  • Afternoon: Visit the Chureito Pagoda
  • Evening: Return to Tokyo and have dinner nearby our stay

Day 7: Tokyo

  • Morning: Visit the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
  • Afternoon: Head to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building & Akihabara
  • Evening: Check out the nightlife in Akihabara

Day 8: Tokyo

  • Morning: Visit Tsukiji Outer Market
  • Afternoon: TeamLabs Borderless or Planets, which one should we go for?
  • Evening: Have dinner in Odaiba

Day 9: Tokyo

  • Morning: Imperial Palace
  • Afternoon & Evening: Roaming around Ginza

Day 10: Leave for Kyoto

  • Morning: Take the train to Kyoto and check in to the accommodation
  • Afternoon: Fushimi Inari Shrine
  • Evening: Have dinner nearby

Day 11: Kyoto

  • Morning: Visit the Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) & Ryoan-ji Temple
  • Afternoon: Head to Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
  • Evening: Dinner in the Arashiyama area

Day 12: Kyoto

  • Morning: Nijo Castle and Nishiki Market
  • Afternoon: Philosopher's Path
  • Evening: Dinner nearby

Day 13: Osaka

  • Morning: Take a train to Osaka & check-in
  • Afternoon: Osaka castle
  • Evening: Head to Dotonbori for dinner

Day 14: Osaka

  • Morning: Umeda Sky Building and walk around
  • Afternoon: Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan
  • Evening: Visit Shinsekai for dinner

Day 15: Osaka/Leave for Tokyo

  • Morning: Any last-minute shopping or sightseeing
  • Afternoon: Train back to Tokyo
  • Evening: Dinner

Day 16: Flight back home from Tokyo
