I recently changed jobs and am now regularly in contact with Japanese people from big companies. I noticed that the technical terms are hard to explain to the customers because they generally originate from Latin, English, etc. Engineering is taught in Japanese in Japan but to be able to understand technical papers on IEEE or research patents they need English. Why there is a lack of universities with English Engineering courses in Japan? Is it because of nationalism or something?
