If it’s a larger quantity of oil my personal preference is the flakes you add to the hot oil that gels once cool it making it easy to throw in the garbage without needing something to soak it up.
They sell this chemical at every store that turns it into a solid. Use this on it first and then throw it in the burnable waste
My city requests you solidify it with an oil coagulating agent or soak it up in paper towels before putting it in burnable waste. There’s also (liquid) oil collection at designated collection sites twice a month.
I would think oil would be outlined in your city’s garbage outlines.

I’d pour it into a burnable trash bag.
