Concealed piping air conditioners

I just bought a house, and two of the rooms have a setup for concealed piping air conditioners (隠蔽配管).

Bought some air conditioners at Yamada Denki, but when they came to check out the setup, they said they couldn’t install them because of the concealed piping setup (apparently there are dangers and it needs to be done by a very specialized technician and they refuse because they don’t want the liability). They said that I could either cancel and get a refund OR for about 5万 they could create new holes in the wall and install regular pipes on the outside of the house like most regular air conditioners, completely not using the concealed piping setup at all.

Contacted the builder of the home (who consequently is doing a renovation on it now), and they said they can install different type of air conditioners but it will cost more money. Still waiting on the exact figure, but …

Does anyone have any experience with concealed piping air conditioners in their home?

Other than the outside of the house looking more tidy, are there any other benefits of the concealed piping system, versus just making new holes and going with Yamada Denki? As air conditioners usually need to be replaced every 10 years or so, I’m planning on going with the latter (Yamada Denki), so that I don’t run into this issue every time I replace them.
However, if there is a benefit I am missing out on by not using the concealed piping system that is already available, I would be interested to hear about other people’s experiences.
Thanks!
