Hello!
I’m planning a trip to Japan in the last week of Feb/ first week of March’25. Id like a feedback as to if this itinerary makes sense as I’d be booking my flights this week.
A balance between history, culture, nature and nightlife would be excellent, so any recommendations are highly appreciated!
Day 1 (Feb28)
Land in Tokyo at 6 AM
Explore Shinjuku
Shinjuku Gyoen
Explore Shibuya
Meiji Shrine
Takeshita Street/Harajuku/Omotesando
Shibuya Scramble Crossing
Shibuya Sky
Day 2 :
Explore Ginza
Tokyo Tower
Imperial Palace Gardens
Senso-ji Temple
Day 3 :
Day trip to Fujigawakuchiko
Day 3 evening:
Nakamise Street
Akihabara
Day 4: Travel to Izu Peninsula
Kawazu Cherry Blossom festival.
Stay at Izu peninsula.
(I think this would be a nice addition, a little unconventional maybe. Also a chance to get a glimpse at the early cherry blossoms.)
Day 5: Travel to Kyoto
National Museum
Imperial palace
Sumiyashi shrine
Kiyomizudera Temple
Day 6: Kyoto
Fushimi Inari, hike upto Shin-Ike and back.
Gioji Temple
Pokémon centre once back in the evening
Nintendo Kyoto
Day 7: Travel to Osaka
Osaka castle
Hozenji Yokocho
Walk around and explore Osaka
Day 8:
Day trips to Nara/ Uji from Osaka
Back in the evening and explore nightlife.
Day 9: Travel to Hiroshima
Visit Itsukushima
Explore the city
Day 10: Return Flight.
Does this seem doable? should I spend longer time in one city over another? I plan to stay 2 nights in Kyoto and 2 in Osaka rather than having a single base as I read in the sub that though both the cities are pretty close, they offer totally different vibes.
Thanks for the help!
