How long do you need to have lived in Japan to apply for a mortgage

As some background i'm on a highly skilled visa (5 years), resident since April this year, I'm in temporary accommodation and looking to buy a house if possible (rather than spend a lot of the first month of fees to rent), just wondered when that could be for me?

(Hopefully will have PR next year as I have 85 points)
