nightlife in shinjuku but not staying there

any tips for someone who wants to experience nightlife in shinjuku but hotel is in roppongi? i know that trains stop operating after midnight and taxis can get expensive. is it still worth it to experience nightlife just until before midnight (so i can still go to my hotel haha)?

  1. Note that the last train from Shinjuku to Roppongi on the Oedo line depart at 12:30am.

  2. Why not crash in a capsule hotel for one night? They are usually quite cheap.

  3. Trains start at about 5am, why not stay out for the night? Or crash for a few hours in a net cafe, or just do the hour walk back to Roppongi?

  4. I stayed at Kabukicho until 11:30am before going back to my hotel at Ueno. I think that’s late enough but still had lots of fun.

  5. At worst it’s an hour of walking. Grab a Pocari Sweat at a convenience store and explore the city at night.

Roppongi has its own night life scene so you could always go to Shinjuku, take the last train, and then continue in Roppongi.
