Yaeyama island chain (Ishigaki in specific) is my fave outfits holiday destination. Been 8 times and going again this July. Amazing people, laid back, delicious and famous island beef! Much different from mainland Japan.
Aside from the heat and the annoying immigration office, doing well.
going to miyako in july. Any advice on where to go, what to do ? I plan to rent a bike a have a little tour, maybe a swim. Anything must-do/see ?
Absolutely amazing Ishigaki. I like the far north of the island the best because there are no tourists.
People are nice, sights are beautiful but still the poorest place in Japan

Going to Ishigaki in March! Hope it’s a good time of year for it (seems okay based on my research) but just happy I can swing it.
I loved being stationed on Okinawa. Lots of snorkeling and the water is so clear and warm! In my 5 years I made a lot of friends and met my wife. I miss it so much.
It’s awesome. Some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met and one of the safest places I’ve ever seen for children
