I’ve been planning to move to Japan since middle school. I’ve been seriously researching it for the past several months but have run into a slight problem. My goal is to become an author publishing my books wherever I can in whatever country I can. I want to get my start here in the US but have no clue how I could honestly continue that once I move to Japan. From what I’ve read for a working visa you have to have a job in Japan that is able to support you and your livelihood. This may seem naive of me but I eventually would like to live there permanently as an author and would still want to publish in my native language. But I have absolutely no clue as how to do any of that. All my research has been with jobs like a teacher or office worker. There’s extremely little that I can find about being an author or anything similar. Any suggestions on where to look or how to begin?
