About the 1.3M threshold on being a dependent on my husband’s shakai hoken. (I am holding a Spouse of Japanese visa)
Early this morning, my employer discussed to me the possibility of becoming a freelancer for them instead.
Basically, They will pay me my whole salary and then I will have to do my taxes and stuff on my own and in return, I will have to provide an invoice to them.
My question is, if ever I will be accepting this deal,
if my calculations are right, I will be a little over the limit because I will be working more than the usual and they will pay me rate/hour.
If ever this would be the scenario, upon filing my own taxes by next year, will I be mandated to step out of my husband’s shakai hoken and get kokumin hoken and nenkin for my own before I can file my taxes?
Also, do I need to register for anything before I can be a freelancer? (Not a company/business, or a sole proprietorship)
I will just file my taxes on my own and this job will also be my only income. I don’t plan on taking any other freelancing jobs aside from this.
My apologies in advanced, if I misunderstood any of this.
