Guarantor and Inviter on Visa Application Form When Going to Language School

So I just submitted my COE along with all my other paperwork, passport, photos, etc the other day but I somehow missed the second page of the application and they just emailed it to me and asked me to fill it out.

The top two things are “Guarantor or reference in Japan” and “Inviter in Japan”.

I would assume those are both my language school, but my language school didn’t exactly mention this to me, they’re not available for correspondence to answer my question until this evening at 3am my time and, the most confusing part for me, both sections on the application include “sex”, “date of birth”, “nationality”, “profession or occupation” and “relationship to applicant”.

That makes me feel like it needs to be an individual rather than a school.

I’m sorry this might be the dumbest question, but I’d hate to send in the wrong thing late. I also have the option of waiting to speak to my point person from the school but that wouldn’t be until the middle of the night tonight.

  1. Writing your school is fine, sometimes they’ll instruct you to write a particular staff member.
