I am in a bit of a fix. Moving from India to Tokyo next month. I have a dependent visa. My company in India needs time to figure out my transfer to our Japan office. What should I do?

I am on a dependent visa and moving to Tokyo next month. I am working with a company in India that has a branch in Tokyo as well. However, for them to sponsor my work visa they need time (not specified how long it may take). I am worried they may not have a response for me by the time I actually land in the country.

I am wondering, can I enter Japan as a dependent, apply for the 28 hour weekly permission to work, and continue to do my job in India till the time my office can figure out a way forward? I can request my office about the reduced weekly hours that I am allowed to put in the job and hoping they would agree.

If this is not a suitable arrangement, I may have to quit my job and move without any job offers in Tokyo.

Trying to understand if this is within the framework of immigration laws and policies in Japan? Any advice or recommendations for an immigration lawyer/consultant who can offer some direction will be very helpful.
