Don’t you feel sometimes that Japan makes you pay for too many things compared to your home country?

I mean there are countries where contribution to the health/pension system isn’t required by law, where you don’t have to pay tv taxes when you don’t actually own a tv, where you don’t have to pay yearly taxes on a property you own, where residency taxes cost almost nothing.

Lately, I really am under the impression that the country just wants to milk my savings to no end.

Is it just me?

Edit: lots of negative comments there so here is some additional context. I have stopped working last year and I am currently paying taxes based on the revenues when I was working. For example I pay 7 man monthly just for the health system. Pension at 2 man per month isn’t bad but the NHK still sending me these letters every 3 months is bothering me a lot. Residency tax is crazy too. Anyway …
