In the spring and fall when we have our windows open 24/7 we get a lot of cigarrette smoke from the neighbors upstairs. We've interacted with him minimally but my wife says he's a scary mean ojisan.
I wouldn't normally mind but we have a newborn sleeping and breathing in smoke. On the weekends he's smoking 3 cigs per hour mornings from 7 until 9 at night. Weekdays just morning before work and at night.
We've done the Japanese way where we just cope with it, but it's gotten worse so we called management. They said they would contact him.
I want to try out the American way.
I want to go outside and yell to stop when he's smoking.
I've considered more petty stuff like buying fart spray and spraying it up in the air at when he's smoking.
Moving out is a nice option.
