Tips for light rain city travel in Tokyo?

About to head to Tokyo/Kyoto for the first time, arriving June 26th. I'm from Seattle so we're used to light rain (but never thunderstorms); we've got a pretty typical itinerary of staying near Shinjuku, a lot of walking and roaming to various neighborhoods. Looks like a stretch of 40-50% rain showers, low 80s Fahrenheit temps starting on June 26th.

Given the light rain forecast, any tips from those who travel frequently? We plan on buying umbrellas if need be when we're there; prepped with linen and comfy shoes. Anything else we should think about? Doesn't seem like we'd need to dedicate ourselves to finding indoor activities given the forecast but wanted to check with the regulars here.
