Hi I am planning to go to Japan in November for 25 nights. I have been to Japan before but only got to do 2 days in Tokyo while mainly exploring Hokkaido. This time I want to see the South and enjoy Tokyo more.
Dates | Place | Nights | Things to do | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
1st – 3rd Nov | Nagasaki | 2 | Nagasaki Peace Park, Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum*, Nagasaki Museum of History & Culture, Mount Inasa night view, Glover Garden, Dutch Slope, Chinatown | Flying in on the 1st at 11am |
3rd-5th Nov | Fukuoka | 2 | Dazaifu day trip, Nanzoin Temple, Yatai crawl, Tenjin and Canal City | |
5th-8th | Hiroshima | 3 | Peace Park*, Peace Memorial Museum, Atomic Bomb Dome*, Miyajima Day Trip, Hiroshima Castle | potentially day trip to Okayama on the 3rd day? (30 mins by train) |
8th-13th | Osaka | 5 | Dotonbori, Amerikamura and Shinsaibashi. Day trips: Nara , Himeji, Kobe and Koyasan. | Possible to do Kobe and Himeji in 1 day as half day trips if my main goal is to just see the Himeji castle in Himeji. |
13th – 17th | Kyoto | 4 | Fushimi Inari Shrine, Pontocho, Tea ceremony. Kinkakuji , Gion, Arashiyama | |
17th-19th | Lake Kawaguchi | 2 | Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Chureito Pagoda, Oishi Park, Kubota Itchiku Art Museum, Renting Bike | Will probably arrive here late afternoon/early evening. |
19th-27th | Tokyo | 7 | Mount Tsukuba/ Mount Takao hikes. General city exploring, teamlabs. shopping. Yokohama, Kamakura daytrips |
This is the rough Itinerary I have come up with.
Is it realistic to do what I want with these days? I am not sure if I am cutting Nagasaki too short by basically being there for 1.5 days. But I know I'll have the most energy on the first week. Tokyo is the least detailed at the moment but I am the least worried about it for now. Just not sure if I am being too optimistic with 2 nights each in Nagasaki and Fukuoka when I arrive.
Please let me know your opinions! 😀
