Hello Everyone, This is my first post here.
So, I am an international student who got selected to the 3 year Doctoral program in Nano-Biomaterials at Tokyo Institute of Technology (soon to be called Institute of Science Tokyo) in collaboration with RIKEN.I will be moving to Tokyo alone at the end of September.
I will be given 5200 yen as a daily allowance to support my living expenses ,which amounts to roughly 156k yen monthly. In addition ,I will be provided 70k yen as Housing allowance monthly.
Given its Tokyo and it can be quite pricey, What quality of life can I expect for these 3 years with this amount? Is it possible to save money, given I can cook my own meals and have a good social life with occasional outings with friends ,etc?
