Too packed for 12 days? Kyoto > Hiroshima/ Miyajima > Osaka

How feasible is this plan?I feel like im going crazy planning this for my family, and I hope my not being annoying for posting too much here. i also just found out it is Miyako Odori season when were in Kyoto, I just dont know where to fit in. I will move things around from advice and recommendations accordingly. Travel dates are March 31 to April 11 ( which is a part of a 21 night trip – March 22 to April 11). we havent booked hotels but I know roughly where we want to stay

Day 1 – Travel from Hakone to Kyoto

  • 4 pm -Check in at Kyoto.
  • (Preferred hotel but pricey: Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura= 1,645 AUD/ 4 nights. Closest to Nishiki Market & Gion district)
  • (Cheapest Hotel: Ebisu Ryokan = 849 AUD / nights. 7 min walk to Kyoto station)
  • Have dinner at Nishiki market. Sleep early

Day 2 – Kyoto

  • Kiyomizudera Temple
  • Hire Kimono for the day (starts at 9 am) and get a family photographer
  • stay in sannenzaka & ninenzaka
  • possibly fushimi inari temple towards the night (we can do next day return for the kimono)

Day 3- Kyoto

  • rest morning and start later around lunch
  • Tea ceremony with Kimono at Maikoya (yes, kimono again cause I want to keep wearing different ones lol.)
  • Possibly watch Miyako Odori (I believe this has a tea ceremony as well so we will just pick one closer to the date as the tickets have not been released (?)
  • walk around Nishiki market & Gion district

Day 4 – Kyoto

  • Arashiyama bamboo forest (7am)
  • Kinkakuji temple. Lunch
  • 2 pm – Rest in hotel
  • Maruyama park + Pontocho Alley

Day 5 -using KANSAI HIROSHIMA PASS (5 days only) – Hiroshima

  • Check out at 8 am, leave luggage at Shin-Osaka station
  • Train to Hiroshima – lunch on the train
  • Peace Memorial Park + Peach Memorial Museum
  • Shopping at Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Arcade – eat Hiroshima Okonomiyaki (can do next day if too packed)
  • Check in at Miyajima Island (Sakuraya = 282 AUD for 1 night, was thinking of just staying on Miyajimaguchi instead as I found a 132 AUD per night)
  • go around the omotesando Arcade + eat a lot of oysters for dinner

Day 6 – Miyajima

  • Wake up early for the Itsukushima Shrine, Tahoto Pagoda & Daisho-in Temple
  • Lunch again at Omotesando Street
  • 4 pm- Train back to Osaka – will eat in the train
  • Check in at Hotel ( Will book close to Umeda station. DEL style Osaka Shin Umeda= 1,451 AUD for 6 nights)
  • Explore Dotonbori at night

Day 7 – I was planning to do Okayama/Himeji day trip but ill just do Himeji/ Kobe

  • Himeji Castle – we will enter the castle and explore koko-en garden
  • Lunch
  • Travel to Kobe – see Nunobiki herb gardens and eat kobe beef (is the typical price over 100 AUD/10,000 yen?)
  • Back to Osaka. optional : River Cruise

Day 8- Osaka

  • Universal Studios. Express Pass (DAMN expensive af)

Day 9 – Osaka

  • Nara park in the morning
  • 3 pm rest at hotel
  • 5 pm travel back to Kyoto as we have a Dinner with a Maiko/Geisha at 7 pm (Had to booked it at this time as booked out during our stay in Kyoto so we have to travel back. But I will cancel this if I find a tea ceremony performed by a geisha as it will be cheaper. currently this dinner option is 1,700 AUD for 4 people)- also a little bit risky if trying to get the last train back to osaka

Day 10 – Osaka

  • Walk around Umeda for food trip
  • find a spa to relax – i really just want a scalp wash like the videos on youtube lol (what is the typical cost and any recommendations)
  • 2nd hand shopping (bro's idea of a holiday, I probably ran out of money at this point)
  • ohatsu tenjin shrine

Day 11- Osaka

  • Sumiyoshi Shrine
  • Shintenno-Ji Temple
  • Shinsekai
  • Kuromon Market – food and shopping

Day 12 – Fly back
