  1. It seems that countries are hoping/expecting/anticipating Covid to go away on its own. With all the claims about how mild it is I was surprised to see that between Sept 2, 2021 and August 31, 2022 Japan has had 23,802 confirmed Covid deaths with most occurring between Feb. and August 2022. During the same period the US has had 400,000 confirmed Covid deaths.

    Covid has not ended. Without measures in place to end the pandemic the pandemic may never end.
