This might be a really dumb question, but I'm curious… is something like the US Child Tax Credit something that would be taxed in Japan? I switched to filing my US taxes using the FTC last year, and this year will be my first year applying for the Child Tax Credit. I should get around a $1500 refund. Will this money be taxed by Japan? My initial thought was no, but my initial thoughts on a lot of tax issues have been wrong so I wanted to check!
