Since you are in that very rough direction, I recommend going to Uji. You can be indoors while visiting the main temple, and you can go inside to drink green tea
This is compelling news. Do keep us updated as frequently as possible.
Seems less croweded! What time was it? Im planning to visit next week and im hoping to avoid the crowd
We are here in kyoto. Not too bad when it comes to crowds! Had a fun night with locals at a very cool izakaya called Kushimatsu. Highly recommend the sashimi!
I went late in the afternoon and it was empty
When I went it was a very hot day and so packed full of people that I wished I hadn’t gone. This looks much more reasonable
You should post in r/kyototravel
I was there on Wednesday! It’s extremely true what they say about the herd thinning out the further you go up Mt. Inari. Pack some good shoes and go to the top, you’ll get plenty of photos with no tourists!
I went last week around 4PM. Plenty of tourists in the first 10-15 ‘mins but it cleared right up after like 20 mins of walking. Took my wife and I about 50 mins with time for photos and a bathroom break. Easy to snag great photos as you get closer to the top 🙂
Idk man, it’s hard to believe you.
Last week you were in Hong Kong
Went the other day.
The best thing to do is to go up via the trails that don’t have torii gates on them. Then walk down through the gates – it’s practically empty at the top, even when it’s busy at the bottom.
You get to wander through some pretty cool bamboo forests too.
