Hi all, long-time lurker of this reddit, so excited to finally be able to explore Japan. My overarching question is as follows – should I end my trip with DisneyLand or Immersive Fort Experience?
Some context – I am visiting in November, my husband and I prefer activities that allow us to engage, rather than sightseeing. We are “loosening the purse strings” so to speak, in terms of a travel budget.
My understanding is that DisneySea is incredible, when visited in isolation. In comparison to DisneyLand – it isn’t as great. We’ve initially opted for DisneySea since it is the only one in the world, and we may be able to visit DisneyLand at one of its other international locations.
We are not Japanese-speakers, but from what I have seen, Immersive Fort Tokyo is still quite enjoyable for tourists.
The price of visiting DisneyLand and Immersive Fort is very similar – and for this reason I might be inclined to visit DisneyLand instead – but we are also visiting Universal Studios in Osaka – so it may be worthwhile doing something different to an amusement park?
I’ve capitalised the elements of my itinerary that are worth considering.
The run-down of my itinerary is as follows (feel free to let me know if I am being too overly ambitious!)
Day 1 – 5 = Tokyo
Day 1 = touch down in the afternoon, check into hotel, dinner nearby
Day 2 = teamLab Planets, Odaiba, Ginza, Tokyo Tower
Day 3 = FULL DAY AT TOKYO DISNEYSEA
Day 4 = Harajuku, Ometesando, Shibuya
Day 5 = Spontaneous – pick a district and get lost
Day 6 = Nagoya
Nagoya Castle | Noritake Garden > access into Aeon Mall > Tsutaya Bookstore | Corridor of Light at Nabana no Sato
Day 7 – 10 = Osaka w/ day trip to Nara
Day 7 = Umeda Sky Building, Dotobori, Amerikamura
Day 8 = Osaka Castle, Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street, Shinsekai
Day 9 = UNIVERSAL STUDIOS OSAKA
Day 10 = Nara
Day 11 – 13 = Kyoto w/ day trip to Arashiyama
Day 11 = Hokan-Ji, Maikoya, Pontocho Alley
Day 12 = Fushimi Shrine, Nishiki Markets, Kamo River
Day 13 = Arashiyama
Day 14 – 15 = Hakone
Day 14 = Odawara Castle, onsen
Day 16 – 18 = Tokyo w/ flight home from Tokyo in the evening
Day 16 = Ginza, Akihabara
Day 17 = IMMERSIVE FORT TOKYO or DISNEYLAND ?
Day 18 = get ready to return home after a trip of a lifetime
