Hi everyone I need a bit of advice here. I have lived in a share house for 6 years and am suddenly being handed an eviction notice for rule violations. Apparently, I have not been flushing the toilet or using it cleanly – despise this not being the case, I always clean up after myself when using the facilities here.
Note that regardless these supposed violations were never ever brought up to me. In fact, I have never had any issues or complaints in all of the time I have been living here and am completely blindsided by this. There is no real proof – not that this is the sort of thing that's easy to prove either way – and the management is only saying that "everyone is saying it."
I am wondering what legal options if any I have. Not that I would go full lawsuit, but I can definitely afford a short consultation at least and I would at least like to be able to stay until the end of my current contract which is a few months. Despite living in a share house I am making a reasonably good income, and one of the main reasons I haven't moved out is because I work freelance and am reluctant to part with the money it would cost for a proper apartment.
Also any recommendations for apartments or short term stays on short notice would be very much appreciated.
