I run a small indie game studio and recently moved to Tokyo. For my next project I was hoping to bring on 1 or 2 keen students or junior developers (programmers or artists) for a shortish-term period (paid). I've been a programmer for close to 30 years and I like the idea some sort of mentorship/internship. I've been working remotely alone for too long and so am looking to find someone local so there can be some face-to-face time to work together.
I don't really know where to look. I saw there was a Tokyo Meetup for people interested in games and game development but I'd prefer to work with a non-English speaking local rather than a foreigner who is living here (give back to the local community on all that…)
Maybe there is no other way than to go through a HR company (which I kinda wanna avoid because its a very formal and long process) but thought I would ask here just in case someone has any tips!
