Yunyu Kakunin-sho/Prescription Question

So my doctor ended up prescribing me 10 months of my medication instead of 12. I know she did this because its regular refill is coming up in mid August, so by the time I leave I will have 12 months total. But this means that I have 2 separate prescriptions of the same thing that I will be taking to Japan. Does this mean I will need to fill out 2 separate Yunyu Kakunin-sho applications?

  1. Can you call your doctor and explain the situation? Might be simple as a call they make to the pharmacy depending on your specific situation

  2. I had something similar happen with mine. My insurance would only pay for 3 months worth, but I needed a year. So I got a 3 month prescription paid for by my insurance and paid the other 9 months out-of-pocket.

I just put down the total number of tablets that I’ll be taking with me. Even though it’s in 2 different bags and it’s 2 prescriptions, it’s the same med in both so I figure it’ll be fine.
