I just arrived in Tokyo for my 3 month internship and im realizing that my current homestay is quite far from the office. Additionally the job will require a lot of moving around, while carrying heavy camera gear. I was originally planning on taking subways (still havent figured out how the commuter passes work) but the idea just dawned on me; a scooter/moped. I came with my international drivers license so I should be legally allowed to drive them. Does anyone know of good moped rentals here in Tokyo on a monthly basis? Some concerns I have are
The roads are completely foreign to me, I have no idea how to read Japanese.
Parking – where is moped parking allowed?
Has anyone rented a moped for their short term stays in Japan? Is it worth doing in your opinion?
