Is Tokyo in April 2025 really that bad? Too crowded to enjoy? Any tips for avoiding the crowds by going outside the city?

Hey everyone

I’m planning to hit up Tokyo in April 2025, but I’ve been hearing all kinds of stuff about how crowded it gets, especially with cherry blossom season. Is it really that bad? Like, too packed to actually have a good time?

Anyone been there around this time? Is it crazy busy to the point where you can’t enjoy anything? I’d love to hear from folks who’ve been to Tokyo in April. How did you deal with the crowds? Were there any spots that were less crowded and still fun?

If it’s too much, where should I head outside of Tokyo to still see cool stuff without all the people?
