Where to start? Osaka or Fukuoka?

Hi, I would be grateful if I could get some advice please. I'll be in Japan for 10 days in October which will be my very first time in Japan. I have the option to fly either into Fukuoka, Osaka or Tokyo. I'm thinking to start south and then head north, so now I'm weighing Fukuoka Vs Osaka.

I still don't have a solid itinerary but I know that I want to do Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo.

So with that in mind, would you start in Fukuoka and start heading north or would you start in Osaka and do Hiroshima as a day trip from there?
