trigger warning for grossness? maybe obvious from the tag but just in case.
went into the bathroom (all consolidated in this apartment, so toilet isn't separate) and saw what I thought was a worm with something in its mouth . . . no. no that is not what it was.
apparently it was a hammerhead worm. look, I used to play with earthworms as a kid, I don't mind regular worms (although I'm not in the business of touching them anymore) but once I realized it wasn't a regular worm I knew something was up.
I regrettably got it on some paper and flushed it (many, many times I flushed. frankly I'll probably flush more) which now I somewhat wish I hadn't done, because I didn't know what it was so i didnt know the proper "disposal". now I also have a small irrational fear it will remerge. ick.
I washed the floor with an absurd amount of cleaner. I know there are no recorded (supposedly) incidents of poisoning or anything from contact, but things that look gross and are also hazardous in any way make my brain make dial up sounds.
the worst part is not knowing how it got there….
eugh.
