I think I have my trip mostly settled and have two open days at the end of my trip after being in Nara. I’d like to go somewhere else and then will head to narita from there to fly back to the US.
I’ve never done the onsen thing or stayed at a Ryokan and am looking for suggestions for something on the luxury side of things.
My trip is in late July so I was thinking something in the mountainous areas so it is a bit cooler.
Any suggestions?

The only place you can end your trip to Japan is at a hot spring ryokan in Hakone!Â

The mountains of Hakone are a little cooler.
Sekaie in Atami might be an option – upscale ryokan but more like a hotel. Atami is a summer beach resort so that should be nice in July too.
