Visa problem (crossposted in AskJapan)

I have a unique visa question. So, currently I live in Japan under an instructor visa, but from September I will switch my visa to a student visa and enter graduate school. However I have come to have some big anxiety over something that happened last year. Last year I was invited to work a short one-week job for the International Math Olympics. I went to immigration to request permission to work this position. Under the 資格外活動許可.

At immigration, after some conversation and half an hour of waiting, I was told by the inspector that since the position was for such a short time that I didn't need to request the 資格外活動許可 and could work under my current visa. I was elated! I provided all the documentation in Japanese and requested confirmation again, but he was adamant it would be ok.

However, now I'm worried that this will come up when I go to change my visa to be a student and someone will question it. Should I be worried or should I chill out? Should I go in and tell them straight up about the situation? Will they even question it?I have a lot of anxiety about this.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.
