Need Advice on accusation

In March, I was accused of damaging another person’s car door with mine in a parking lot, causing a dent and a scratch.

The police were called, and I informed them that the incident did not happen. They took my statement.

A few weeks later, the other person filed an insurance claim against me. My insurance company sent an agent to inspect my car door to verify if there were any dents or scratches. They also checked if any damage matched the other person’s car.

Ultimately, my insurance company found no evidence that my car caused the scratch, and the claim was deemed invalid.

Today (in June), my insurance company informed me that the other person has decided to sue me for damages amounting to 40,000 JPY. If I do not pay, I will need to hire a lawyer on my own.

I have two options:
1. Pay 40,000 JPY to settle the matter, or
2. Engage a lawyer, bear the associated costs, and risk an increase in my car insurance premiums next year.

I would like advice on what my best course of action is in this situation.

Edit: The issue is, i didn’t not do it and my insurance company has dismissed the claim. Why should I pay for damages I did not incurred.
