Do I need a software engineering degree to work, or can I use a bootcamp?

I just recently moved to Japan to live with my wife. I was wondering if I could still get a job doing a software engineering bootcamp instead of getting a degree? Ik that Japan is a degree based society when it comes to job hunting. If anyone could please answer I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
