JR Rail Pass or Tickets Day of?

Hi Everyone!

I'm heading to Japan with my brother at the end of the month and am very excited. It will be both of our first time. Below is our itinerary, but we were curious, is it best to get the JR Rail pass with or schedule or should we try to save some money and buy all our tickets at the station? Also if you have any general recommendations feel free to let us know! Thank you, your help is much appreciated!

July 25: Arrival Day

• Check into ANA Intercontinental , rest, and explore nearby areas.

July 26: Day In Shibuya

Go to Shibuya Crossing

2:00PM – SHIBUYA SKY

Enjoy Japanese Jazz at a local club in the evening.

July 27: Shopping and Culture

Morning: Gotokuji Temple (get tickets)

• take the train 30 minutes to Gotokuji Tenple

Afternoon: Go to Ginza!

Visit Tsujyki Outer market

Visit 12 story Uniqlo & other shopping

Dinner at night

July 28: TeamLab & Shinjuku

Team Labs 11AM

• Spend the morning at TeamLab (either Borderless or Planets).

July 29: Tokyo Disney Sea

July 30: Transfer to Fujinomiya

• Early morning travel to Fujinomiya.

Spend the day exploring local attractions, including views of Mount Fuji.

Visit Shiraito Falls

July 31: Transfer to Kyoto

• Morning travel to Kyoto via Shinkansen (bullet train).

• HOTEL: DOUBLE TREE BY HILTON KYOTO STATION

August 1: Full Day in Kyoto

• Explore Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Fushimi Inari Shrine in the morning.

• Visit Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) in the afternoon.

August 2: Nara Morning Trip

• Morning trip to Nara to visit the famous Nara Deer Park and Todai-ji Temple.

• Return to Kyoto for the afternoon and evening.

August 3: Morning in Kyoto & Osaka Day Trip

• Afternoon day trip to Osaka.

• Visit Osaka Castle in the late afternoon.

• Explore a night club in the evening in Osaka.

August 4: Morning in Kyoto & Transfer to Hakone

• Travel to Hakone in the afternoon.

August 5: Leisure in Hakone
