Hi there. I've lived three months in Tokyo and, in my small apartment, I had a contract with TokyoGas. At the time I was still in Tokyo I contacted them to close my utilities the day I was leaving, and they told me that, for the last bill, I was supposed to make the payment from overseas with credit card, through their website.
The problem is that, through myTokyoGas, it was impossible to change the payment method, so I compiled an inquire form asking them how to make the last bill's payment. A couple of days later, I've received an e-mail with a link attached and the payment amount (which I double checked, and everything was correct, including the amount and my costumer number with TokyoGas). Only later, after making the payment with credit card, I've checked who sent the e-mail and, given that it isn't the website of TokyoGas linked, I got suspicious and I immediately froze my card. It's also impossible for me to contact TokyoGas by phone, as their numbers are unreachable.
By your judge, is this a scam or is it legit?
