That is super taboo in the US, but in an interview for a position with a company in Japan, I was asked a lot about my ADHD and ADHD and anxiety medicine, and I feel like that may have contributed to my not getting the position. Don’t want to press charges or anything, but I am curious what the legality of this with Japanese employers. It was relevant but it was weird, and I am also worried this could cause issues in the future.

Don’t tell them about it in the first place.
Not illegal.
If you don’t want to talk about it don’t mention it (and don’t let it be relevant).
If it is relevant and you bring it up, it is their right to ask, isn’t it.
