I am visiting Japan with my boyfriend in December! Approx. 15th till 30th. Sadly we can’t stay for the change of the year. First of all how would you describe that time of the year in Japan? I know it’s not the reccomended Spring or Fall but still hoping to be a one in a lifetime experience.
We are the kind of travelers who would like to explore as much as we can but we also want to rest and shop. We don’t mind walking. Since we are both Europeans and we haven’t experienced Asian cultures before it would be interesting to learn about the history of Japan and visit some must see historic landmarks, but usually we avoid the the usual cathedrals, churches and war museums of Europe.
I am a big fan of art and a true foodie. My boyfriend is a huge fan of Pokemon and a foodie as well.
We would like to experience more local food and affordable options rather than fine dining.
So I’m looking for your help. Any food that we must try for sure? Any hidden gems that we must see? How do we avoid tourist traps?
