My wife and I both have a 5 year Humanities visa, and mine will expire in September, hers will expire in 3 years. I will go in the next week or two to renew my visa. I hope I get 5 years again, if not then okay.
My wife is out of a job and has been looking for a job for almost 3 months and nothing yet. She wants to get onto my visa asap so she doesn't get deported since she doesn't have a job.
Is she able to transfer onto mine even though it will expire in 3 months? I want her to be able to relax without worrying about visas or jobs for a while. She had a very toxic company and wants to work from home for now so we were hoping to switch her visa to dependents but mine is also up for renewal so I’m not sure.
I assume I will be renewed, but if I don't will she have to leave with me as well?
I've looked on the internet but I haven't been able to find an answer for this specific request. We are planning to go to immigration to ask in person when I apply for my renewal but might as well ask here for personal experiences.
Also she has like 3 part time jobs now. Can she just self sponsor herself with those part time jobs? She has found a startup company but they said they cannot be her main employer because of certain regulations needed to do so. How long does it take to change to dependents visa?
