Going to Japan for the first time this September

Hi friends! I was researching and tuning my itinerary for my solo trip to Japan. Can you check if this maybe too crowded for any day? I am used to both, a relaxed itinerary and a crowded one but just want to make sure what I have is doable

For context, I am 27M and a backpacker. My interests includes anime, food, history and drinks. I am also looking for good night life but not alot ad I would rather explore historical places and local culture. I haven't decided in which neightbourhood I wand the place to stay yet as I feel I may need to adjust itinerary. Without rambling much, here is my itinerary

Days 1-3: Tokyo

  • Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo. Explore Shibuya (including Shibuya Crossing and Hachiko Statue), Harajuku (Takeshita Street), and Shinjuku. Visit the Pokémon Center in Shibuya or Sunshine City in Ikebukuro.
    • Stay in Tokyo.
  • Day 2: Visit Asakusa (Senso-ji Temple), Ueno Park, and Akihabara for anime, manga, and electronics shopping.
    • Stay in Tokyo.
  • Day 3: Day trip to Mitaka for the Ghibli Museum. Return to Tokyo and explore more if time permits.
    • Stay in Tokyo.

Days 4-5: Hakone

  • Day 4: Travel to Hakone. Enjoy an onsen experience, visit the Hakone Open-Air Museum, and take a cruise on Lake Ashi.
    • Stay in Hakone.
  • Day 5: Explore Hakone Shrine and ride the Hakone Ropeway. Return to Tokyo in the evening.
    • Stay in Tokyo.

Days 6-9: Kyoto

  • Day 6: Travel to Kyoto. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine and its iconic torii gates. Explore the Gion district in the evening.
    • Stay in Kyoto.
  • Day 7: Visit Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Ryoan-ji Temple, and Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.
    • Stay in Kyoto.
  • Day 8: Explore Nijo Castle, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and walk through the Philosopher's Path. Visit the Kyoto International Manga Museum.
    • Stay in Kyoto.
  • Day 9: Day trip to Nara. Visit Todai-ji Temple, Nara Park, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine. Return to Kyoto in the evening.
    • Stay in Kyoto.

Days 10-11: Osaka

  • Day 10: Travel to Osaka. Visit Osaka Castle, Umeda Sky Building, and explore the vibrant Dotonbori area.
    • Stay in Osaka.
  • Day 11: Choose one of the following options:
    • Option 1: Explore Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, Osaka Science Museum, and Sumiyoshi Taisha.
    • Option 2: Day trip to Himeji to visit Himeji Castle and Kokoen Garden.
    • Option 3: Day trip to Kobe to visit Kobe Harborland, Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens, and Ikuta Shrine.
    • Stay in Osaka.

Days 12-13: Hiroshima and Miyajima

  • Day 12: Travel to Hiroshima. Visit the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, and explore Hiroshima Castle.
    • Stay in Hiroshima.
  • Day 13: Day trip to Miyajima Island to see the Itsukushima Shrine and the floating torii gate. Return to Hiroshima in the evening.
    • Stay in Hiroshima.

Days 14-15: Fukuoka

  • Day 14: Travel to Fukuoka. Explore Canal City, Ohori Park, and Fukuoka Tower.
    • Stay in Fukuoka.
  • Day 15: Continue exploring Fukuoka, visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.
    • Stay in Fukuoka.

Days 16-17: Kanazawa

  • Day 16: Travel to Kanazawa. Visit Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle.
    • Stay in Kanazawa.
  • Day 17: Explore the Nagamachi samurai district and Higashi Chaya geisha district.
    • Stay in Kanazawa.

Days 18-20: Tokyo and Nikko

  • Day 18: Return to Tokyo. Visit Odaiba for the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue and teamLab Borderless.
    • Stay in Tokyo.
  • Day 19: Day trip to Nikko. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Toshogu Shrine, Rinno-ji Temple, and Kegon Falls. Return to Tokyo in the evening.
    • Stay in Tokyo.
  • Day 20: Final day in Tokyo for last-minute shopping and exploration. Visit Nakano Broadway for more anime and manga shopping.
    • Stay in Tokyo.

Day 21: Departure

  • Day 21: Stay in Tokyo until the departure.

NOTE: I will book flights where necessary to reduce travel time ex: Hiroshima to Fukuoka or Fukuoka to Komatsu
