My partner and I were just visiting the flower park in Hamamatsu recently and as we exited, a Japanese guy comes up and yells something about a campaign in Japanese. Thinking maybe he needed change or some assistance, he stops to see we’re foreigners. Does a little small talk in very broken English, saying he works for the FBI and Interpol(?), and is friends with John rockafeller?? We shook our heads as we slowly inch away from this guy, but then randomly gives us Pokémon cards (hyperball and Pokémon catcher in Japanese). And we went on our merrily way. Shook his hand too?
Am I going crazy or is this guy weird and wanted to practice his English? I made sure the cards weren’t embedded in some kind of NFC, and that they didn’t any kind of substance on there but seems to be fine? 🤷🏻♀️
