Hello!
I'm traveling with a family of 6 (2 middle aged adults, 2 young adults, 2 kids) to Kyoto in July. Greatly need criticism and suggestions!
Day 1, Sunday:
- 3 PM: arrive in Kyoto from Tokyo, check in hotel (Kamigyo)
- 4: nishiki market
- Evening/ night: ???? Pls Suggestions for what to do in the second half of this day…! Most temples are closed in the evening/night (og i was gonna do fushimi inari at night but figured too dangerous bc we have a fragile adult and 1 younger kid)
Day 2, Monday:
- 9:00: arrive at yukata rental, Higashiyama District (found thru Klook. didn't book yet but interested in this one)
- 10: explore Ninenzaka/Sannenzaka
- Noon: Kiyomizudera Temple
- Evening: Gion Matsuri festivalÂ
- Question: Should we hit Kiyomizudera before Ninenzaka/Sannenzaka?
- I put Ninen/Sannen first bc that’s where the yukata rental is (klook) and I thought it’d be nice to take pics at Kiyo w the yukatas alr on. But if Kiyo gets more busy, should we hit it first? Ik there are kimono rentals there too, but the one I found seems like a better deal LOL (id prefer yukata > kimono bc heat) but if you had a good experience with a yukata rental at Kiyomizu lmk!
Day 3, Tuesday:
- 8 AM: Fushimi Inari
- Arrive Noon: Arayashima: Monkey forest (?), arabica coffee, kimono street, etc
- Question: Do we spend the whole remaining day in Arayashima? Please suggestions on what to do there (Besides the bamboo forest). Or do you recc a diff city (like Uji or Nara) instead?
Thank you!
