Hello everybody!
I will be traveling to Japan for 19 days, and one of the final places we will be going to is Nikko. As of now, we will be there for three days and two nights. We will leave for Nikko early on 10/20 and return to Tokyo in the evening on 10/22. I keep reading different opinions regarding how long to stay in Nikko, and the consensus is that two days and a night should be more than enough. I am asking because I wanted to travel to Seki (a day trip). After all, I wanted to take my boyfriend to where his favorite scissors come from; he is a fashion designer.
If I go with the two-day/1-night option, what would be a potential itinerary for those days? We are considering staying in a relatively cheap Ryokan to relax at night. We are going to Nikko to take a break from all the cities we are going to on our trip, a small nature retreat, but we are not opposed to going to Tōshogū or any other mail location.
